The Neurophysiological Biomarker Toolbox (NBT)
Object Tabs
The Neurophysiological Biomarker Toolbox (NBT) is an open source Matlab toolbox for the computation and integration of neurophysiological biomarkers
Purpose
The NBT is specialized in that it provides a systematic, efficient, and exhaustive characterization of information in recordings of ongoing neuronal oscillations based on a variety of biomarker algorithms. The NBT also supports analysis of data related to cognition scores from questionnaires.
NBT is specialized in analyzing EEG data, however it allows the processing of any kind of signal. Typical problems that the NBT will help you solve, are to identify and quantify differences in ongoing neuronal activity between:
- Eyes-closed rest of subject populations (e.g., healthy subjects and patients, males vs. females, young vs. old, etc.).
- Two experimental condition (e.g., classical eyes-closed rest vs. meditation, or before vs. after consumption of a CNS-active substance (a drug, coffee, nicotine, alcohol, etc.).
If you have questionnaire data, the NBT will help you identify and quantify differences in cognition between your two groups or two conditions.
